This is an example of work done on a cottage garden in Landkey
The existing patio was low to the ground and only created a small ridge to the adjacent drive. This resulted in easily catching the side of it and therefore the first priority was to create a taller boundary between the two.
The existing patio was firstly uplifted, especially as it was sinking. This was originally to be replaced with a decked area and some of the slabs used to create a path to a washing line.
This plan was changed to create both a decked area and a new patio area.
Firstly a retaining wall alongside the drive was built which made a level area for the patio. This was followed by a wall between the decked area and the new patio area, made from bradstone, hollowed out to provide a planting area.
The patio was created from using the same slabs as before, but laying a cement/sand 4:1 mix to avoid it sinking in the future.

The decking was made from pre-weatherproofed timber in single lengths to avoid unnecessary joins.
To finish off posts were erected and a thick rope chain was added.
The work was well liked and many further jobs have been completed for this customer.
Croyde
This is an example of work done on a holiday home in Croyde
Erected a fence to create a secluded rear garden.
Original builder had left it as grass-seeded earthed area.
Used topsoil & turfed area. Mahogany sleepers were used, which is just one high at one end and four high at the other to create an impressive terraced garden. The wall was created as a hollowed out area for plants, shrubs and even trees to be planted.

There was a small unfinished patio, which we finished off using the same materials, but extended it and angled it to meet the turfed area.
Two steps were created by using sleepers that were turfed over.
This work was all done within a tight schedule, as it needed to be ready for a wife's birthday party and was finished just in time!
Further work has been obtained on this property and also on adjacent properties, some large jobs and also some more simple maintenance ones.
Wherever possible we ensure that we reuse or recycle materials and also use materials from sustainable sources. For example, all our grass cuttings are used at a local farm.
